    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Flexible, room for growth great doctors

    Cons

    Understaffed constant change in management

  3. Join the Northwell Health team

  4. Former Employee, more than 1 year

    Pros

    Free parking for the staff

    Cons

Working for Northwell long-term is not viable unless you have a great support system outside of work. The PSA position is a floating position to fulfill coverage needs. You don't have a designated workspace, you don't have a designated time to take 15mins breaks/lunch (it's contingent upon who you're covering for-and often times, more senior staff take advantage of newest members). Management presence is minimal. When you finally get access to management and voice a concern, you get gaslighted, and they like to blame the victim. The more senior staff are so fed up that they've checked out which in turn put the burden on the newbie to pick up the tab. Overall, the staff is cold, vindictive, and engage in workplace bullying. They even make fun of the vulnerable/development disabled patients that comes to the office. Sometimes, they staff could be overheard talking about their personal business and having conversations inappropriate for the workplace. With management and supervisors, there was often awkwardness as well as condescending, patronizing behavior. One positive aspect was the position is unionized, so you can always transfer internally after the first year.

  5. Okay

    Oct 13, 2022 - Administrative Assistant

    Recommend

    CEO Approval

    Business Outlook

    Pros

I like the company, but there isn't much flexibility

    Cons

Biweekly pay have to work for a year before transferring positions no one really answers

  6. Current Employee, more than 1 year

    Pros

the only pro is the fact that there are so many northwell offices if you're ever sick (be mindful of $20-$40 copays with the basic plan and making sure you exclusively go to a northwell facility cause you'll end up paying a lot out of pocket).

    Cons

my floor was overworked and we could not use our PTO as we pleased. we had to call management directly to call out and had to explain exactly why. if they didn't seem our reason good enough they would try to make us make it up. i will be leaving for this exact reason. what's the point of working for PTO if i can't even use it.

  9. Pros

Love Northwell Health. I think they are very kind, considerate, treat their employees well, with a focus on growth and learning. Busting through the red tape can be frustrating to move around within the company, but they do make it very accessible, and have a great mindset when it comes to moving within the company. You can shadow different positions, figure out what works for you. Healthcare can get very heavy, but it makes it easier when your employer does what they can to truly help you

    Cons

Can be overly bureaucratic at times within organization. But not too out of the tolerable ranges for working for an organization.
